Because of changes in current situation connected with the new standards for accreditation, a visit of Rector of TAM Dr. Andrei Volkov to the U.S.A. will take place in May or June 2003. During this visit Rector plans to discuss the standards of AACSB and the conformity of TAM to these standards. Rector will discuss with the AACSB Advisor and Liaison the peculiarities of educational system in Russia, which interested AACSB committee the most.

May'03
10-17th May the SOM group of faculty and MBA students came to Russia. From 10th to 13th of May group visited Togliatti to meet with the city administration, representatives of local business and banking, faculty and students of Togliatti Academy of Management. Then till 17th of May group stayed in Moscow. During this visit group got acknowledged with transition economy, financial system, business and financial organizations of Russia.

In accordance with recommendations of TAM Advisor Dr. V.K. Unni and TAM Liaison Dr. Ottis Baskin, in April, when the new standards for accreditation were approved, TAM presented an updated version of its accreditation plan with all necessary accompanying notes to AACSB Coordinating Committee.

January'03
The set of UMF on-line courses (Operations Management and Marketing) started in January as usual. The difference from previous semesters is that now online courses are available not only for TAM students, but also for its graduates, listeners and PMTI graduates. The payment for one course for Russians is $ 175 in comparison with the original price of $ 700 for the U.S. students.

September'02
23 September in Washington, DC was held an AACSB committee discussion. During this discussion was considered the changing of the Academy status from pre-candidacy to candidacy.
AACSB adviser V.K. Unni represented the Academy. The committee had some questions about Russian educational system. AACSB committee took a decision to postpone the decision about Academy status.

19 √ 24 September Gregory William Allar visited Togliatti. His visit was devoted to the 10th anniversary of the twin cities Togliatti √ Flint and to the opening of the joint enterprise GM √AUTO VAZ. During the trip Dr. Allar will met with the administration and professors of the Academy. They discussed achieved results, new perspective of collaboration and stated goals for the nearest future.
